Mt. Horeb Recreation Department--Affordable, quality family recreation programs such as swimming, baseball, basketball, gymnastics, soccer, babysitting classes, adult exercise programs--all sorts of things for kids and adults too. The Rec. Dept is also in charge of park shelter rentals at all of the plentiful parks in Mt. Horeb.
Mt. Horeb Aquatic Center--The local swimming pool with baby pool and even a fun water slide. Home of the Mt.Horeb Gator Swim Team.
Deer Valley Golf 18 hole golf course located just outside Barneveld complete with lodge and waterpark.
Norsk Golf Club 9 hole golf course features casual atmosphere, lessons and leagues. For winter fun, there are 8 lanes of bowling with bumper bowling and leagues.
Tyrol Ski Basin--Located just a few minutes outside Mt. Horeb in the beautiful Vermont Township.
Military Ridge Bike Trail--40 mile bike loop from Dodgeville to Verona, running right through the village of Mt. Horeb.
Cave of the Mounds--A Geologic favorite. Tours last 1 hour.
Little Norway--on the National Register of Historic Places, Little Norway is an original Norweigan homestead featuring authentic Norse architecture. Located between Mt. Horeb & Blue Mounds.
Blue Mound State Park--Park featuring camping, swimming pool, lookout tours and hiking trails.
Governor Dodge State Park--Located near Dodgeville. Park has great lake swimming, fishing, hiking, and camping. It's where we camp to kick off summer on the last day of school!
List of Dane County Parks--Local favorites are Stewart Park and Brigham Park, but there are many good ones! Note: Stewart Park is currently undergoing rennovations.
Donald Park--700 acres containing oak & pine woods, restored prairie habitat, wetlands and intriguing rock outcroppings with scenic views. Miles of trails allow visitors to enjoy the rugged beauty while hiking, cross country ski, horse back riding and snow shoeing. Donald Park is also know for its trout streams.
